Dr. Welch Unveils The Missing (tooth) Link
It turns out that denture wearers are more common than most people would think! According to a recent survey, 19% of women over 40 wear full or partial dentures. Here are some signs that you may be on the road to dentures.

Visiting the dentist every 6 months is extremely important in maintaining adequate dental health. Neglecting to visit the dentist twice a year can contribute to the eventual health decline of your teeth and increase your likelihood of dentures.

Untreated gum disease, such as gingivitis, leads to periodontal disease, which ultimately leads to tooth loss. If your gums are bothering you, do not leave them untreated! With help from your dentist, Dr. Welch, healthy gums and teeth can be restored if caught early.

If your teeth are loose or shifting, the unknown reason behind it may be gum disease. Letting gum disease advance from mild to severe can increase your eventual need for dentures.

If you have a toothache the underlying cause could be tooth decay. Don’t hesitate to visit your dentist because, if left untreated, it can lead to a costly solution and increase your chance of becoming a denture wearer.

Missing teeth is a serious sign pointing towards dentures if left untreated. A missing tooth can be a chain effect for others to soon go missing as well.

Are there certain foods that your teeth just can’t handle? If so this could be an underlying cause of something more serious such as a gum disease or a cracked tooth.

If you’re a sufferer of constant stomach pains it may be because your teeth are not able to chew your food properly. Visit your dentist to find out if your teeth are the reason behind it.

Some people opt to become denture wearers earlier than is necessary so they can flash those pearly whites without feeling subconscious.
