Emergency Dentistry

Our office provides emergency dental care. Call our office so we can instruct you how to proceed if you have experienced a dental emergency. It is important to act efficiently in order to preserve a knock-out tooth or properly fix the damage that has been done to the mouth.

Depending on the severity your treatment plan will vary. If you are unsure if you have a dental emergency or not, you should call 911. Dental emergencies can happen anytime, that is why our office provides emergency dental services.

If you have a tooth knocked out, chipped, cracked, broken, etc., and there are no other injuries to the body or excessive bleeding, your dentist can set a time for you to come in.

Issues such as infections, swelling, and abscesses can cause serious damage if you delay getting treatment.

Cracked Teeth

A cracked tooth can happen for a number of reasons such as:

  • Grinding teeth
  • Clenching teeth
  • Hard foods
  • Using your teeth as a tool, such as opening a bottle
  • Impact on the face

Fallen Out Tooth

If your tooth gets knocked out, please use the following steps:

  • Gently rinse the tooth to remove any dirt or debris, do not scrub the tooth
  • Keep the tooth moist by placing it in a glass of milk, or if you can, gently put it back into the socket, or keep it in your mouth between your jaw and cheek
  • Place cloth on the wound to control the bleeding
